Neighbourhood Lead - Scunthorpe South
Help shape the future of neighbourhood working in North Lincolnshire.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and forward-thinking leader to take on the role of Neighbourhood Lead - Scunthorpe South, helping us deliver an ambitious new approach to local services.
North Lincolnshire Council is developing a more integrated, preventative and community-focused neighbourhood model. Our ambition is to bring services, partners and communities closer together, making better use of local resources and improving outcomes for residents.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape that model while taking responsibility for the effective day-to-day delivery of services across a defined neighbourhood.
About the Role
As a Lead Officer, you will provide visible operational leadership across a diverse range of council services and community facilities. This includes leisure and physical activity, libraries, community hubs, information, advice and guidance, and wider community-based services.
You will be responsible for bringing these services together as part of an integrated neighbourhood offer, leading multidisciplinary teams, maintaining high-quality operational delivery and working with partners to respond to local needs and priorities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing diverse operational teams, services and facilities across multiple locations, ensuring safe, effective, customer-focused and financially sustainable delivery.
Bringing together council services, partners and communities to provide more joined-up support for residents.
Using local intelligence, performance information and community insight to identify needs and shape service responses.
Maximising the use of neighbourhood assets, facilities and resources to improve access, participation and value for money.
Supporting prevention and early intervention, helping residents access the right support at the right time.
Managing operational performance, budgets, workforce pressures and service risks.
Building strong relationships with elected members, partners and community organisations.
Leading service improvement and change while maintaining effective day-to-day operations.
About You
We are looking for someone who combines strong operational management experience with the ability to lead change, build partnerships and deliver results.
You will bring:
Experience of leading teams and managing services in a complex operational environment.
The ability to manage competing priorities, resources, performance and risk.
Strong people leadership skills, with experience of supporting teams through change.
Confidence working across organisational boundaries and building effective partnerships.
The ability to use evidence and local insight to improve services and outcomes.
Sound judgement, political awareness and a practical, solution-focused approach.
You will have a relevant degree or equivalent experience, alongside management qualifications or demonstrable management experience.
We welcome applications from leaders with relevant experience across local government, public services, leisure, health, community services and other complex operational environments.
Why Join Us?
This is more than a traditional service management role. You will have the opportunity to influence how neighbourhood services develop, strengthen connections between services and communities, and make a visible difference to the places and people we serve.
You will join a supportive leadership team committed to innovation, collaboration and delivering better outcomes for North Lincolnshire.
