Experience working within the building maintenance, repairs, or construction environment.
Experience working independently to diagnose faults and complete repairs.
Competence in at least two trade disciplines (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, plastering, decorating, tiling, etc.).
What’s the role? …
To deliver a high-quality, customer-focused repairs and maintenance service across tenanted and void properties within the London Borough of Lewisham.
The postholder will be a front-line representative of Lewisham Council, working directly in residents’ homes and across council-owned properties. The role requires competence in at least two trade disciplines, supporting flexible service delivery within a multi-skilled workforce.

What we’re looking for
Someone who combines strong trade skills with a customer‑first approach – able to work independently, communicate clearly with residents, and consistently deliver safe, high‑quality repairs across occupied and void homes
Location
The job is primarily based on site across residents home in the borough of Lewisham
Special conditions
- Relevant City & Guilds and/or NVQ (or equivalent) in a building trade.
- Good level of literacy and numeracy.
- Full UK driving license.
- The job is subject to an enhanced DBS check

Salary
£44,235 - £45,852 per annum (PO1)
N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
