South Hams District Council's Property Services Team have an exciting opportunity for a multi-skilled operative. As true a team player, the successful candidate will have gained their knowledge and experience from working on a variety of different projects within the building industry.

As a local authority we believe passionately about delivering quality council services and we need great operatives to support us in our ambitions. Ideally you will possess a broad knowledge and experience of the skills required for property maintenance. We’re looking for someone who displays a positive attitude, is willing to learn new skills and is willing to turn their hands to most aspects of the building trade.

The successful candidate will be welcomed into a team that maintains the Council's property and assets. Varied and wide-ranging, challenging and engaging, the work you will undertake will include day to day reactive repairs and planned maintenance across our picturesque districts. Either working alone under your own initiative or as an important part of a larger team on project work, we ask that applicants have a flexible approach to their workday to meet the demands of the reactive and planned repairs we undertake.

Driving licence is essential as you will be working in both South Hams and West Devon, and in return we will provide you with a vehicle, uniform and training as standard, and more often than not, a Monday to Friday working week – but you may be asked to join an emergency on-call rota on a rolling basis.

For an informal discussion, or for further details about the role please contact Cain Foskett 01803 861107 or cain.foskett@swdevon.gov.uk
