Do you have experience working as a Cook or Chef, ideally in a commercial kitchen?

Or do you enjoy cooking and are looking for a role that you will allow you to develop your skills?

We are now recruiting for a Cook or Kitchen Assistant to work in our kitchen at Gladstone House, one of our Housing with Care schemes.

If you have previous experience, we would love to discuss our Cook vacancy with you. In the role, you will be working alongside our housing staff as well as carers and will be responsible for preparing a two-course, nutritious and tasty midday meal for our elderly residents as well as ensuring the kitchen and dining room are operated in an efficient manner.

However, if you don’t have formal experience but have a love for cooking and would like a role that will allow you to develop your skills, and with the potential to progress into a Cook role, then our Kitchen Assistant role will be more suitable. In this role, you will assist with the preparation and service of midday meals, snacks, and beverages.

In both roles, you will ensure that you carry out all your tasks in accordance with all current legislation and guidelines concerning the preparation and handling of food. You will also maintain high cleaning standards in the kitchen.

If you have previous experience, or a genuine love for cooking, as well as being caring and compassionate with a desire to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable adults please do get in touch.

For an informal chat about the role please contact Klair Pollard, Domestic Services Team Lead, on 07712101719.

As an employer, we can offer enrolment into a generous local government pension scheme, a generous annual leave entitlement that increases with service and discounted gym membership. In addition to this, you will be working with a dedicated and compassionate team who are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of our tenants.

Closing Date: Friday 28th September 2025 (we may close the vacancy early if required)

Interviews: To Be Confirmed

Veterans/family of forces/ex-forces, those in care/care leavers, and candidates who declare a disability (as defined under the Equality Act 2010) will be guaranteed an interview provided they have demonstrated that they meet the essential criteria of the post as detailed in the Person Specification on their application form.
