About the role
We are looking for a proactive, customer focused Maintenance Inspector to join our Asset Management (Repairs) team. This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll help ensure our tenants live in safe, well-maintained homes - and where your technical expertise and people skills will make a direct impact every day.
As a Maintenance Inspector, you will carry out inspections of tenanted and void properties, diagnosing repairs and specifying works, order day to day maintenance jobs and escalate more complex issues to surveyors as required, and undertake quality inspections of ongoing contractor works and build strong working relationships with contractors. You will ensure compliance with health and safety requirements including gas, asbestos, legionella, CDM and related statutory obligations, working with colleagues on garage repairs and quarterly H&S inspections.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is Customer-driven, confident, and able to communicate effectively with tenants, contractors, and colleagues. You must also be solution-focused, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
Essential requirements include an HNC in Building or equivalent, or willingness to work towards a relevant qualification. Experience in property maintenance, including pre- and post-inspection work together with working knowledge of repairs and maintenance in a social housing environment (desirable but not essential). A full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle insured for business purposes.
This role involves a mix of office-based work and site visits, sometimes in different environments or adverse weather conditions. You will also participate in the emergency out-of-hours rota as required.
