We have a unique opportunity in Fleet Services, based within the busy vehicle repair workshop at Smithies Lane Depot - this is your chance to be a part of council services delivered within the community.

We are looking for a professional light vehicle technician with a proven track record of providing inspections, maintenance and repairs across a diverse and challenging fleet whilst maintaining the highest possible standards of quality.

Someone who has shown the ability to work to strict deadlines, provide accurate and detailed information whilst upholding the highest possible standards of health and safety.

Being part of a team of technicians tasked with providing the best “£ for £” local authority maintenance function possible and support our Zero 40 Zero Carbon strategy by transitioning the Fleet towards EV.

The chosen candidate will be working on a range of vehicles from cars through to vans, as well as multiple other items of light equipment.

Using your extensive experience as a vehicle technician, you will contribute to providing management information which will help inform decisions and set priorities in what can be a highly challenging environment with conflicting demands.

You will also be expected to offer help and guidance to peers and new recruits, helping to promote the council’s values and beliefs.
