The role

The Governors of Oakwood Avenue Primary School in Warrington are looking to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to work in the early years team at our popular, happy and inclusive school.

This is a fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave period from 9th November 2026 until 27th July 2027. Applicants for this role will need to ensure that qualifications are those approved as ‘full’ and ‘relevant’ by the DfE for EYFS (see link to Early Years qualificaiton checker - https://www.gov.uk/guidance/check-an-early-years-qualification).

Governors seek an individual who:

  • Is willing to go the extra mile for the children of Oakwood Avenue.
  • Possesses a TA level 3 qualification which is approved to work in EYFS as full and relevant.

Hours per week: Between 30 hours per week over 5 days as follows: Monday – Thursday - 8.30-15.15 with half an hour for lunch & Friday – 08.30-14.00 with half an hour lunch

Salary: WBC Grade 5, SCP 8 (dependent upon experience).
