    St.Helens Council recognises and values the contribution Occupational Therapists make to enabling children with disabilities to live as independently as possible in their homes and the community. Occupational Therapy Services play a key role in the strategy for integration of health and social care across the Borough.


    The Occupational Therapy Team are based in Contact Cares as part of St Helens Cares with the role of delivery of an integrated equipment and adaptation service.


    We are seeking a well motivated and enthusiastic HCPC registered Lead Paediatric Occupational Therapist, with specialist knowledge of children with disabilities and the ability to work under pressure, to join our team. The successful applicant will have an interest in developing their skills working with children with disabilities who have complex needs, supporting a junior member of staff and OT assistant and will be responsible for the provision of specialist equipment and adaptations to promote independence. Service development will be a key part of the role.


    The successful applicant should have a good understanding of complex physical and cognitive disabilities and experience in the provision of equipment and major adaptations. Knowledge of up to date moving and handling techniques and good IT skills would be an advantage. The Service is committed to continuing professional development.
