    About the Role
    We are launching a new, dynamic enablement service in Newham Adult Social Care, and we’re looking for passionate and skilled professionals to join us as Learning Disabilities and Autism Enablement Officers.

    In this role, you will deliver integrated social care support to residents with learning disabilities and/or autism, helping them to live more independent and fulfilling lives. You’ll work with an assigned caseload, assessing needs, developing personalised support plans, and promoting independence through daily living skills and community engagement.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Champion person-centred, strengths-based support, empowering individuals to build on their abilities and achieve personal goals.
    • Promote independence through tailored support in areas such as travel training, money management, and daily living skills.
    • Develop and implement creative and innovative solutions, using technology and thinking outside the box to meet individual needs.
    • Build strong networks with local partners, businesses, and community organisations to expand opportunities for inclusion and engagement.
    • Work collaboratively with families, carers, and professionals to ensure holistic and coordinated support.
    • Continuously assess and review support plans, adapting to changing needs and aspirations.
    • Encourage active participation in community life, supporting individuals to make informed choices and lead fulfilling lives.

    What We’re Looking For
    You’ll be committed to person-centred care, with experience in supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism. You’ll be a strong communicator, able to work collaboratively and flexibly within a multidisciplinary team.
