Kitchen Assistant
Salary Range £12,734- £13,115
20 hours per week Fixed Post
About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our small kitchen team at our Social Centres in Addlestone. We aim to provide high quality day services and activities for the older residents of Runnymede so flexibility is important as you will be required to cover in periods of absence across our sites.
The Centre offers a traditional home cooked meal as well as providing a tea bar with freshly prepared sandwiches, cakes and drinks. The key duties will be ensuring that kitchen and tea bar areas are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and provide assistance to the Cook and Assistant Cook in preparing meals.
Although no experience is necessary, as we provide full training, we are looking for someone who is committed to providing a high-quality service and who enjoys working with people. There is also a requirement for flexibility, as we would expect this person to assist in the covering sickness and holiday at our various centres.
Experience of working in this environment is preferred, as we appreciate the challenges of a commercial kitchen can be hard work and hot, so candidates must be physically able to work in this setting.
About you
We are looking for someone with the following qualities:
- Basic Literacy and numeracy
- Previous kitchen assistant experience would be desirable
- Organised
- Willing to undertake training
- Flexible and willing to assist at various centres when required, so own transport is essential
