The Headteacher and Governing Body are seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and committed Class Teacher to join the team at Long Toft Primary School.

We are looking for strong, experienced practitioners who can make a real difference to pupils' outcomes, provide high-quality teaching and learning, and contribute positively to the wider life of our school.

We are particularly keen to hear from teachers with proven experience of teaching in Key Stage 2, who have the confidence, resilience and skills to secure good progress for pupils with a range of needs and starting points.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Are highly effective classroom practitioners with a proven track record of improving pupil progress and attainment.
  • Have substantial experience of teaching across Key Stage 2 and a strong understanding of the curriculum.
  • Demonstrate excellent classroom management and establish positive, consistent relationships with pupils.
  • Are committed to inclusion and can adapt their teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Bring energy, creativity, flexibility and enthusiasm to their teaching.
  • Can use assessment effectively to identify gaps, address misconceptions and accelerate learning.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, parents and the wider school community.
  • Are reflective practitioners who are committed to their own professional development and to improving outcomes for every child.

Additional responsibilities

The vacancies may be suited to a particularly experienced teacher who is ready to take on additional responsibilities and contribute to wider school improvement. Depending on the successful candidate's experience, skills and the responsibilities agreed, this post may be offered on the Upper Pay Scale.

We welcome applications from experienced teachers who can demonstrate leadership potential, a willingness to support colleagues and a commitment to developing practice beyond their own classroom.

Our School and Community

Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do at Long Toft. We are proud to serve a diverse community where many of our children face additional barriers to learning and require a high level of support, including pupils eligible for Pupil Premium and those with complex needs.

We recognise that every child brings their own strengths, experiences and potential, and we are committed to ensuring that all pupils feel safe, valued and able to succeed. Alongside high-quality teaching, we provide a range of additional support for our children and families, helping to build resilience, overcome barriers and create opportunities for the future.

Our school context can be challenging, but it is also incredibly rewarding. We are looking for teachers who understand the importance of relationships, have the resilience and adaptability to meet a wide range of needs, and are motivated by the opportunity to make a genuine difference to children's lives and outcomes.

Visits to the school are warmly invited. Please contact Gemma Addison, School Business Manager, to arrange a visit. Application forms are attached to the advert. To apply, please email your completed application form to gemma.addison@longtoftschool.co.uk
