Join our dynamic IT team, where we are committed to providing exceptional IT support to our staff and Members to improve the quality of public service to our residents and businesses. As an IT Help Desk Administrator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth operations across our support services.
Key Responsibilities
- Log and manage IT incidents, service requests, and change requests via phone, email, messaging, or in person.
- Provide first-line support for common issues across Council systems including PCs, laptops, mobile devices, Microsoft 365 apps, Outlook, Teams, and web services.
- Allocate and escalate help desk calls based on priority, service targets, and maintenance contracts.
- Liaise with internal technical teams and external maintenance providers to ensure timely updates and resolutions.
- Procure IT hardware and software in line with business needs and authorisation protocols.
- Manage inventory by logging new equipment and coordinating the collection of faulty hardware.
- Perform general administrative tasks including stock control, ordering, and invoicing.
- Produce documentation and correspondence using word processing and spreadsheet software.
Key Skills
- Excellent telephone manner and communication skills.
- Desire to help people and build strong working relationships.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office/M365 Apps.
- Basic understanding of Windows desktop operating systems and PC terminology.
- Awareness of cyber security.
- Customer-focused with a positive, analytical approach to problem solving.
- Willingness to be flexible and work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Experience operating a Help Desk or Service Desk preferred.

Salary range
- £24,303 - £27,948 per year
