We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an enthusiastic Digital Apprentice within the Applications Team of Technology and Innovation Service. The team supports all business critical systems of the Council by providing maintenance, support, development and upgrades.

We’re looking for someone with drive and ambition who is competent in using Microsoft Office 365 software and who embraces AI technologies.

You’ll have good digital skills, good communication skills and able to work well as part of a team.

    A little bit about us:

This Apprenticeship sits in our Technology section where you will be supporting applications with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. Working with colleagues, our suppliers, and with our partner agencies you’ll deliver real value adding solutions.

    You will:

    • Support low level investigations and resolutions of issues relating to applications
    • Support creation of new user accounts and access controls to applications
    • Support low level changes to applications and update associated documentation under supervision

We currently operate a hybrid working approach where you’ll have access to Westgate (our main town centre office), various outreach buildings and the opportunity to work from home. We operate a 37-hour working week on a flexi-time scheme (7am and 7pm) and coordinate with one another to maintain a level of service cover between the hours of 9am - 5pm Mon – Thurs and 9am - 4.30pm on Fridays.

Here in Barnsley, we live and work by four important values: honesty, teamwork, excellent service, and taking pride in what we do. As part of our team, you can be sure we’ll do all we can to support you in being truly excellent. We prioritise learning and enabling you to achieve your potential. So, we’ve created a development process that lets you grow in the way that suits you - whether that’s training to be a leader or learning flexibly online.
