Homelessness Prevention Officer
This exciting position will be at the forefront of the Council's efforts to prevent homelessness in Shropshire. The Council are looking to transform our service to be proactive, assisting those threatened with homelessness to protect them in their existing homes or find alternative accommodation before becoming homeless. In this way the Council hope to avoid the crisis of losing a home and end the use of B&B as emergency accommodation. We are therefore looking for staff who have the skills and experience to prevent homelessness. The post holder will join a team dealing with those threatened with homelessness, providing advice and solutions to prevent people losing their home.
We are looking for someone committed to delivering good services to assist those threatened with homelessness. Candidates should have experience of providing housing advice and the skills necessary to successfully engage with landlords, parents, and other agencies in order to prevent homelessness. The person must have a knowledge of homelessness legislation as they will be required to make decisions on applicants’ homelessness applications.
We would love to get to know you more so please give us a call if you would like to discuss this role or our team. You can contact Lucy Simpson on 01743 256140.
