As soon as people step outside their homes, they experience and rely on the Redbridge highway network.

Do you want to help shape, support, and contribute to the safety and continuous improvement of Redbridge’s streets, ensuring our communities can travel across the borough confidently, safely, and efficiently? Our aim is to maintain a well‑managed public highway that allows residents to walk, cycle, drive, or use public transport with ease.

Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse, and forward‑thinking east London borough committed to providing high‑quality services and safe infrastructure for our residents. We continue to deliver innovative approaches to managing and improving our network, supporting the Council’s wider transformation programme. This is an important and dynamic time for the London Borough of Redbridge, and our Highways teams play a central role in keeping the borough safe and moving.

We are seeking a committed Highways Safety Inspector to support the ongoing safety, maintenance, and inspection of Redbridge’s highway assets. Working within a professional and supportive team, you will carry out statutory and routine inspections, identify defects, raise works orders, and contribute to the management of a safe and resilient network. This role offers varied on‑site and technical work across the borough, with opportunities to develop your knowledge of highway legislation, asset management, and safety standards. If you are motivated, detail‑focused, and passionate about maintaining safe streets for all, this role provides an excellent platform for professional growth.

At Redbridge Highways, we take pride in adopting innovative practices and continuously seeking ways to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our services. Our dedicated team is known for its problem‑solving approach, professionalism, and commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes for residents and road users.

Join us and become part of a team that values your contribution, supports your development, encourages collaboration, and is dedicated to ensuring that Redbridge remains a safe and well‑maintained borough for everyone.
