
Highway Operative
We are recruiting for Highway Operatives at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 hours
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Highways House, Penmaen
Team: Highways Operations Group
This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organisation.
We pay an attractive salary of £27,694- £29,064 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The dynamic, front-line service covers a range of duties including reactive patching and masonry repairs, gully cleansing and drainage repairs, emergency highway response (including out-of-hours) and winter maintenance service delivery.
Teamwork is integral to this role, and the successful candidate will assist in the undertaking of both highway maintenance and construction related projects.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- Knowledge and experience of Chapter 8 regulations, and previous experience of working within a civil engineering field.
- The ability to communicate effectively and relate well with others within the workplace, along with members of the public, showing commitment to the highest standard of customer service.
- Full UK (Category B) driving licence in order to drive Council vehicles. For example cars, vans
