
Grounds Maintenance Operative

This is an exciting time to be working in Croydon as we look to recruit to a number of roles within our busy Grounds Maintenance teams and provides an opportunity for you to work as part of a customer focused, service delivery team.
Join our dedicated Grounds Maintenance team and help us keep Croydon’s parks, green spaces, and neighbourhoods clean, safe, and welcoming for all. Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out grounds maintenance tasks including grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting, and general landscape upkeep.
- Maintain cleanliness in public spaces including litter collection and waste management.
- Ensure safe use and basic maintenance of tools, equipment, and machinery.
- Work as part of a team to deliver high standards across all assigned areas.
- Support seasonal operations such as leaf clearance and winter gritting where necessary.
About You: - Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering excellent service.
- Able to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Experience in grounds maintenance or horticulture is an advantage but full training can be provided.

Salary range
- £28,617 - £29,436 per year
