General Assistant (Cleaner)

Make a Difference in Lancaster
Join us as a General Assistant and play a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for everyone at the Leisure Centre. We have two posts available:

Post 1 is on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 16.30 to 22.30

Post 2 is on Saturday and Sunday from 13.30 to 19.30.

Your work will support community safety, promote wellbeing, and contribute to the Council’s commitment to safeguarding and sustainability.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll maintain high standards of cleanliness across all areas, from sports halls and swimming pools to outdoor spaces. Using cleaning equipment and chemicals safely, you’ll ensure health and safety guidelines are met. You’ll also assist with light gardening, simple maintenance, and support events, all while providing friendly advice and assistance to centre users.

You’ll Fit Right In If…
You have a keen eye for detail, good communication skills, and a flexible approach to work. Previous experience in commercial cleaning duties will be an advantage. Your understanding of health and safety, including COSHH, and experience in cleaning will help you thrive. An enhanced clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service is essential.
