We are looking for an Float Person to work on the Dartmouth Lower Ferry. This position is shift work including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays and you will be expected to work in all weather conditions.

Under the guidance of the Tug Master you will be responsible in providing a safe and efficient means of transporting cars and passengers across the River Dart with responsibility and accountability for the safety of all passengers, the craft and other river users whilst in compliance with all relevant legislation regarding Health and Safety and the Maritime Coastguard Agency Regulations. This is a physical role and you will be proficient in collecting payments (card & cash), have relevant small boat handling experience and have good communication and customer service skills.

You will also be required to assist with the maintenance of the ferry infrastructure as required.

The successful candidate should hold a PB2 and in date ML5 or ENG1. However, training can be arranged to achieve certificates.

The succesful candidate will work an annualised hours pattern, on cvarying rotas during the year.
