We're looking for a Flexi Site Manager to join our Recycling Centre Service. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in helping Hertfordshire residents recycle more effectively while supporting the smooth operation of our recycling centres across the county.
As a Flexi Site Manager, you'll provide management cover across our network of recycling centres, supporting site teams, maintaining high safety standards, and ensuring residents receive an excellent service every day.
You'll join a friendly and dedicated team that is passionate about sustainability, customer service, and continuous improvement. Working across our recycling centres, you'll collaborate with colleagues who are committed to helping residents recycle responsibly and improving recycling rates throughout Hertfordshire.
About the role
As a Flexi Site Manager, you will:
- Provide management cover across recycling centres throughout Hertfordshire
- Lead, support and mentor site operatives
- Ensure the safe opening and closing of sites
- Maintain site records and documentation
- Deliver excellent customer service and advice to residents
- Help customers dispose of waste correctly and responsibly
- Check permits and ensure compliance with site procedures
- Monitor waste streams to maximise recycling and reduce contamination
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment
- Identify opportunities to improve customer experience and recycling performance
- Operate site machinery, including compactors and JCB equipment (full training provided)
- Act as the site's First Aider and Fire Marshal
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential, as travel between sites is required. Mileage expenses will be reimbursed.
About you
Essential:
- Experience delivering outstanding customer service
- Previous experience leading, supervising or supporting a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work calmly and professionally under pressure
- Commitment to health, safety and following procedures
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to undertake sustained physical work
- Confidence interacting with members of the public and providing advice
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills

Driving required
