About the team
Supporting the main campus sites and other smaller sites around the County.
Fantastic opportunity to become part of a dedicated and diverse Facilities
Management team that plays a vital role in supporting our organisation. The team
works behind the scenes to ensure our buildings, services and workspaces
remain safe, efficient and welcoming for staff, visitors and service users alike.
About the role
- Basic maintenance tasks including some painting.
- Weekly/monthly compliance testing.
- Assisting with access for contractors for maintenance, PPM and Compliance,
- Liaising with Senior Facilities Officer and FM helpdesk.
- Set up rooms for events.
- Build furniture as required.
- Assist with basic cleaning.
- Grounds maintenance, weeding and litter picking.
- Moto X track maintenance at West Hyde.
- Key holder.
- Supporting the day-to-day operation of the Goods in Function, including receiving
- and distributing deliveries.
- Respond to facilities requests raised through the Helpdesk and Site Management.
- Furniture moves and general porterage duties, including heavy lifting.
- Supporting waste management activities, including the collection and disposal of
- cardboard and confidential waste.
- Participate in emergency evacuation procedures and support business continuity
- arrangements.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all facilities areas.
- Ensuring excess confidential wastepaper is secured.
- Providing support at other Hertfordshire sites as required.
About you
Essential:
- Has excellent customer service skills and takes pride in delivering a high-quality service
- Is organised, reliable and able to manage a varied workload
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Is Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly word and excel
- Possesses good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
- Understands health and safety requirements within a facilities environment
- Can undertake manual handling ad physical tasks, including lifting and moving furniture ·
- Can work effectively with confidential information ·
- Knowledge of health and safety ·
- Holds a full, clean driving license
- Basic DIY skills

Driving required
You’ll need to have the ability to drive and/or travel around Hertfordshire, either using your own mode of transport to travel to other locations.
