    What is the job role?

    Edge of Care is a service that will support young people at risk of entering care to stay with their families. We use evidence-based, models of practice and assist families to make significant, positive changes.

    You will provide intensive therapeutic and social care support to young people aged 8 – 18 and their families, usually over a period of 6 – 12 weeks. The work builds on a family’s strengths and introduces coping strategies. It mixes practical support with a strong challenge, to address complex and enduring needs.

    .As a Therapeutic Practitioner, you will take on a portfolio of cases, working directly and mainly with young people and foster families in their homes. Providing a flexible crisis response service with safeguarding at its heart, you’ll complete an initial assessment and develop strong skills in delivering intensive interventions.

    All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

    This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).


    Who are we looking for?


    Are you innovative, positive, dedicated, and not afraid of change or challenge? Then help us to transform the lives and futures of children & young people in a foster placement or at imminent risk of entering the care system. You will need to be committed, nurturing, and passionate about working with Children, Young people, and their families and be experienced in therapeutic approaches. You will need to have a reassuring presence, be calm in a crisis, and able to work with foster carer and families in their homes, helping them make the necessary changes to remain together as a family.

    You are a team player with a flexible approach, willing to work on a shift basis that includes evenings and weekends.
