Early Years Teaching Assistant - Kingsway Primary Academy
The Role
Kingsway Primary Academy is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and committed EYFS Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to join our Early Years team.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of high-quality early years education, promoting the learning, development and wellbeing of all children. You will help create a safe, engaging and nurturing environment where children can explore, play and develop key skills across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Working closely with teaching staff, you will support individual pupils and small groups, helping to develop their learning, independence, social and communication skills and emotional wellbeing. You will contribute to a stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environment and support children to make the best possible progress.
Key Responsibilities
The role includes supporting children’s learning through play-based activities, explaining and modelling tasks in an age-appropriate way, encouraging participation and independence, and supporting the development of communication, language, literacy, numeracy and physical skills. You will help prepare and maintain learning environments, support interventions and adapt resources to meet the needs of children with SEND and additional needs.
You will build positive relationships with children, promote inclusion and positive behaviour, support personal care routines when required, assist during snack and meal times and contribute to children’s speech, language and communication development. The role also involves supervising children during transitions, playtimes and mealtimes.
You will contribute to observations and assessments of children's learning and development, provide feedback to teaching staff on progress and achievements, and work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external professionals.
The successful candidate will also support educational visits, engage in professional development opportunities and follow all school policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health and safety, behaviour and inclusion.
What We Are Looking For
Applicants should hold a Level 2 or equivalent Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification and have GCSEs in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
