Join Nottinghamshire County Council, a dedicated team committed to making a positive impact in our community. We believe in creating a supportive environment where everyone can thrive. Our focus is on delivering exceptional services to children and families, ensuring that every child has the best start in life.

Are you passionate about supporting young children and their families? As an Early Years Practitioner, you will work across Family Hubs, community venues, and family homes in Ashfield North. In this rewarding role, you will:

  • Work closely with parents, acting as their child’s first educator.
  • Assess and record children’s development, contributing to evaluations.
  • Promote inclusive practices and support children with emerging or identified special educational needs (SEND).
  • Collaborate with partner agencies to reduce inequalities and improve outcomes for families.
  • Engage with diverse and seldom-heard families, ensuring everyone feels included.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience working with children aged 0-5 and their families.
  • An NVQ Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent).
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, child development, and the importance of early intervention.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Communicates effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrates empathy and understanding towards diverse family backgrounds.
  • Works collaboratively within a multi-agency team.
  • Maintains confidentiality and adheres to policies and procedures.
  • Shows flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing needs.

At Nottinghamshire County Council, we offer:

  • A friendly, inclusive workplace where everyone is valued.
  • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
  • A supportive environment that prioritises your wellbeing.
  • Generous leave and flexible working arrangements to help you balance work and life.
