Early Intervention RESPECT Keyworker (Young Futures Prevention Panel)
Post Ref: CC096
Please note: Internal at risk or redeployee applicants will be seen in the first instance.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Calderdale Youth Justice Service and contribute to the delivery of the Young Futures Programme through the provision of specialist early intervention support to families experiencing Child and Adolescent to Parent Violence and Abuse (CAPVA).
Based within Calderdale Youth Justice Service, the RESPECT Keyworker will play a key role in supporting children, young people and families where abusive behaviours within the family home are causing harm, distress and family breakdown. The post holder will work directly with young people, parents and carers, delivering evidence-based interventions that improve family relationships, increase safety and promote positive behaviour change.
The successful candidate will be passionate about working with families, skilled in engaging both young people and parents, and committed to providing high-quality interventions using restorative, relational and trauma-informed approaches.
Working closely with the Young Futures Prevention Panel Coordinator, Youth Justice Service colleagues and a range of partner agencies, you will help families access the support they need at the earliest opportunity, reducing vulnerability, strengthening protective factors and preventing escalation into more intensive services.
About the Young Futures Programme
The Young Futures Programme is a key part of the Government's Safer Streets Mission and aims to identify children and young people who are vulnerable to poorer outcomes or being drawn into crime and provide support earlier and more effectively. Young Futures Prevention Panels bring together partners to ensure children, young people and families receive coordinated and targeted interventions to address emerging concerns and reduce future risk.
In Calderdale, the RESPECT programme forms part of this wider prevention approach by supporting families experiencing Child and Adolescent to Parent Violence and Abuse, helping to improve family functioning, resilience and safety
