    The Education Entitlement Service (EES) strives to deliver outstanding services for our customers, predominately the children of Coventry, who may be requiring access to education or alternative education provision. We ensure vulnerable children are appropriately supported; have a voice, that hopefully leads to their high achievement and excellent progress.

    The EES is made up of a diverse range of teams all working together to recognise, support and apply innovative solutions to address the growing issues in relation to trying to educate some of our most vulnerable pupils in schools.

    The Outdoor Education Service made up of experienced staff members provides high quality outdoor and residential experiences within the beautiful Snowdonia National Park.

    What is the job role?

    Domestic Assistant, based at Plas Dol-y-Moch, which is Coventry's Outdoor Education Centre in NORTH WALES

    Job Role

    • Maintain a clean, sanitised, tidy, and safe environment for children
    • Support the kitchen team with general kitchen and dining room duties
    • Perform deep cleaning of communal areas, bedrooms, showers, and toilets on changeover days

    The post holder will be expected to assist in the preparation, delivery and clearing up of both breakfasts and evening meals. In addition the post holder will be expected to assist in the cleaning of the Centre in preparation for forthcoming courses.

    Most of our customers are school children between the ages of 10 – 18 years old and the Centre can accommodate up to 78 students and 9 members of visiting staff

    Typical Working Hours

    • Afternoon Shifts:
      • 2:00pm – 6:30pm (4.5 hrs)
      • 3:30pm – 6:30pm (3 hrs)
    • Morning Shifts:
      • 7:00am – 12:00pm (5 hrs)
    • Changeover Days:
      • Every 4 days (approx.)
      • 6 hours per changeover (start times vary between 7:00am and 8:30am)

    Note: Most hours are worked during school term time.

    All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

    This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).



    Who are we looking for?

    We are looking for a reliable, hard-working and friendly individual to join our team at Plas Dol-y-Moch Outdoor Education Centre. You will enjoy working as part of a small team and be willing to take on a variety of tasks, from helping to prepare and serve meals to ensuring the Centre is clean, tidy and ready to welcome new groups.

    As most of our visitors are school children aged 10–18, we are looking for someone who is approachable, patient and understands the importance of creating a welcoming and safe environment. No formal qualifications are required, but experience in catering, housekeeping or working in a busy residential setting would be an advantage. Most importantly, you will bring a positive attitude, good attention to detail and a flexible approach to work.

    Following recommendations from Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for an additional pre employment check with effect 1 Sept 22, please note, an online search may form part of this recruitment process.
