    Lead the Future of Adult Social Care in Havering

    We’re seeking an exceptional leader to shape and deliver our vision for Ageing Well services. As the statutory Director of Adult Social Services (DASS), you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of care and safeguarding for older adults across Havering.     About the Role

    As Director – Ageing Well, you’ll lead a diverse portfolio of services, including integrated health and social care, safeguarding, and commissioning. You’ll work closely with partners across health, housing, and the voluntary sector to deliver innovative, person-centred solutions that promote independence and wellbeing.

    Reporting to the Strategic Director, People, you’ll be a key member of the senior leadership team, ensuring compliance with statutory duties and shaping policy in line with national and local priorities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic leadership for all Ageing Well services, ensuring alignment with council priorities and statutory requirements
    • Act as the statutory Director of Adult Social Services, overseeing safeguarding and quality assurance across Adult Social Care
    • Drive transformation of older people’s services, including hospital discharge pathways and integrated care models
    • Lead policy development and implementation in line with the Care Act 2014, safeguarding legislation, and CQC standards
    • Manage complex budgets and resources, ensuring value for money and sustainable service delivery
    • Build strong partnerships with health, housing, and voluntary sector organisations to deliver joined-up services
    • Champion innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility

    What You’ll Bring

    • Proven leadership at a senior level within Adult Social Care or a related field
    • In-depth knowledge of legislation, policy, and best practice in social care and safeguarding
    • Experience managing large-scale services and multi-million-pound budgets
    • Strong strategic thinking, influencing, and partnership-building skills
    • Registration with Social Work England and a commitment to professional excellence
