We are recruiting a Day Services Assistant at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 32 hours
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Brooklands Day Centre, Risca / Brondeg Day Centre, Blackwood
Team: Day Services

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our team for a permanent, part time, Day Services Assistant, working in Brooklands Day Base, Risca (Monday, Tuesday and Friday) and Brondeg Day Base, Blackwood (Wednesday and Thursday).

We are looking for someone who can light up a room when they enter, wear their heart on their sleeve, who has exceptional personable skills and has a motivated and positive attitude to all aspects of working with people.

We aim to provide a person-centered and tailored approach when providing social opportunities, putting the individuals we support at the center of all we do.

The successful candidate will be motivated in empowering people to achieve their goals and outcomes; we want you to be the reason that individuals enjoy their sessions with us.

The service is working towards providing weekend and early evening support, and you will be required to work on a rota basis as needed.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A Level 2 qualification in Care on the Credit and Qualifications Framework or the commitment and ability to attain the qualification within 1 year of appointment (subject to availability of training).
  • An understanding of disability issues such as empowerment, choice and advocacy
  • Experience of working in a care setting.
