    You will be expected to work flexibly across the week according to business need. Rotas are subject to change depending on business need.

    Although this role is based primarily at Moorlands Specialist Day Opportunities in Leek, there may be times when you are expected to work flexibly across Provider Services, including different care settings, delivery approaches, and locations, as required.

    Main Responsibilities

    In this role you will:

    • Deliver excellent person-centred support in an innovative, flexible, responsive, and strengths-based manner
    • Act as a Link Worker for the people we support by contributing to the on-going assessment, development, delivery, and review of person-centered support plans.
    • Administer medication and support with personal care
    • Deliver the manual handling requirements including use of equipment, physical intervention skills, and active participation in person-centred activities
    • Plan and deliver community outings and activities, including sensory sessions.
    The Ideal Candidate

    We are looking for people who are passionate about providing outstanding care quality for adults with learning disabilities.

    What you will bring:

    • Current driving license and access to a vehicle and/or proven ability to access all areas of your local community using public transport
    • Be enthusiastic about working with people with learning disabilities and autism
    • Be caring, sensitive and patient while supporting people to be as independent as possible.
    • ICT skills to complete digital record keeping
    • Have effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • The ability to manage potential and actual aggression in a sensitive way and remain calm in challenging situations.
    • Willing and physically able to support people with personal and intimate care needs and physically able to undertake manual handling tasks.
    • A positive outlook on life and able to adapt and respond positively to change

    If you already hold an NVQ level 2 qualification or Care Certificate we would love to hear from you but don’t worry if not, we are happy to support you in gaining the skills and knowledge needed for this qualification.

    Please note that this role will require an enhanced DBS check and a pre-employment health assessment as part of the onboarding process.
