
Day Service Assistant
We are recruiting a Day Service Assistant at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 30 hours
Contract Type: Part Time, Fixed Term until 31st December 2026
Location: Community based settings throughout Caerphilly County Borough Council
Team: Adult Services
This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organisation.
We pay an attractive salary of £21,407 - £22,817 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
Our Community Team provides sessional support enabling Individuals to access activities of their choice within their local communities. The main purpose of the role would be to consider the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of any Individual receiving support - whilst making peoples' sessions enjoyable and meaningful. A person-centred approach to support for Individuals will ensure that opportunities to promote their independence, maintain friendships and improve their wellbeing will be achieved.
You will work peripatetically within our Community Team – which will mean that you will provide cover for the existing staff team when they are not in the workplace.
To ensure our services are maintained, all day service assistants will need to work flexibly with us to ensure the level of support required is available. This will mean that the ability to work over a 7 day period is an essential requirement of the role, this could include weekend and evening working.
You will be required to work in any area within the County Borough during your working week, and will need access to a car to enable you to undertake the role.
For the role, we ask that you have:
- Level 2 qualification in Care on the Credit and Qualifications Framework or the commitment and ability to attain the qualification within 1 year of appointment (subject to availability of training).
- Experience of maintaining and building effective relationships.
- Work in accordance with the Social Care Wales “Code of Professional Practice and Guidance for Social Care” in respect of Workers and Employers.
- Community based staff require a Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business/work to transport individuals throughout the county borough.
