The Intelligence and Insight team supports children and young people across Inclusion & Skills and Education services, ensuring that leaders have access to accurate, timely intelligence that drives better decisions and improved outcomes. Our vision is to create a high‑quality, future‑proof data environment that supports statutory responsibilities, strategic planning, and operational excellence.
You’ll work within a committed team of analysts and performance managers, alongside a wide range of colleagues from operational services, IT leads and improvement teams. Together, we help deliver performance monitoring and reporting from our Liquid Logic case management systems, as well as a range of other national and local data sources, to improve measurement of outcomes, inputs, outputs and service user experience.
About the role
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and support data-driven decision-making processes.
- Update and maintain regular management information, reporting and dashboards to support operational teams, services and strategic SEND and Inclusion leads.
- Interpret data and present findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner through reports, visualisations, and presentations.
- Identify data quality issues and work with relevant teams to resolve them, ensuring accuracy and reliability of data
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and respond to data-related queries from stakeholders including supporting responses to Freedom of Information requests.
- Support our development of Power BI reports and dashboards, as well as other reporting to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights
- Support the data and information requirements for relevant statutory returns and similar requirements such as Ofsted/CQC inspections.
- Promote a culture of evidence-based decision making by forming strong relationships with service leads and teams to discuss insight, inform planning and support the confidence of colleagues to use data and information effectively.
Working alongside frontline services you will:
- Ensure data recording practice in new or upgraded case management system modules are aligned with the service’s reporting needs before new functionality goes live (i.e. performance measures and their supporting reports are specified up front and Power BI Dashboards are developed and included in User Acceptance Testing.)
- Provide the regular management information they need to make operational decisions about service delivery.
- Working as part of a project team to introduce new systems for example relating to real-time attendance, suspension, and exclusion data.

About you
Essential:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to organise, analyse, and interpret information from a range of sources.
- Experience with data visualisation, including through Excel graphs and Power BI.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information to a variety of colleagues and partners including non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Desirable:
- A knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, Inclusion and Skills or Children’s Services would be an advantage but is not essential.
- Knowledge of Excel Powery Query functionality or similar reporting efficiencies
