Who?

Join our Digital Services team at Wealden District Council—we are dedicated to delivering outstanding service whilst protecting our digital estate from an increasing number of threats. You’ll be part of a supportive environment where your input truly matters, contributing to the security and resilience of the Council’s digital operations.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead cyber security efforts and stay updated on emerging threats and solutions.
  • Monitor networks, identify risks, and implement measures to protect systems and data.
  • Provide cyber security awareness training for staff, leaders, and members.
  • Develop and test the Cyber Security Incident Response Plan for attack readiness.
  • Present written and verbal reports in the context of the cyber security role.

What do you need?

  • Strong technical background and experience in an ICT environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Solid understanding of operating systems, endpoint security, and cybersecurity concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, even under pressure.
  • A proactive approach to customer service, with strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
