
The Core Duty Manager (Casual)
Hourly rate: £14.36 - £15.82 plus holiday pay
We are excited to offer opportunities for enthusiastic and customer-focused Casual Duty Managers to join our team at The Core Theatre in Solihull.
Located in the heart of Solihull town centre, the Core Theatre is a vibrant multi-purpose arts venue and a key cultural destination for the borough. Home to a 336-seat raked theatre, a contemporary gallery space and a flexible multi-use studio. The Core hosts a diverse programme of professional, community and amateur performances and events, including theatre, music, dance, comedy and visual arts.
With activity taking place throughout the week, The Core is a busy and successful venue with a loyal customer base and a strong reputation for delivering high-quality experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a professional and passionate team dedicated to creating memorable experiences for audiences, visitors and performers alike.
Working in a fast-paced and varied environment, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the venue while developing your leadership, customer service and event management skills.
As a Core Duty Manager, you will:
- Supervise the front of house operation, ensuring shows and events run smoothly.
- Be the main point of contact for audience members and visitors to the venue, dealing with any queries or issues that arise.
- Supervise and co-ordinate the teams working in the Café and Bar’s and the Front of House volunteers.
- Carry out induction and training of staff and volunteers
- Be a key holder, being responsible for unlocking and locking the building as required.
- Be a first aider and personal license holder for the venue. Full training will be provided.
This role is offered on a casual basis, providing flexibility while supporting the operational needs of the venue.
Hours available will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays. We are committed to supporting flexible working where possible and will work with you to accommodate personal commitments.
We are looking for passionate, proactive and customer-focused individuals who are committed to delivering exceptional experiences for our audiences and visitors.
You will have:
- Proven experience of working in a customer-facing venue such as catering, hospitality leisure, events or similar setting
- Experience of managing people and budgets;
- Experience of planning, scheduling or coordinating venue, event or operational activities.
- Exceptional customer service skills, able to communicate effectively with our audiences, artists, visiting companies and hirers.
- Knowledge and understanding of health and safety requirements and procedures.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions and find creative solutions to unexpected challenges.
