Job Title: Cook
Location of work: The Woodhatch Centre, Reigate.
Salary: Pay scale £27,501 - £28,110 pro rata
Basis: 25hrs per week Monday- Friday 9am-2pm
About the Role
Based inside one of our thriving community centres we are looking for a cook, to provide an upbeat, warm and friendly service. Using fresh ingredients, design a seasonal menu with assistance from the Centre Manager.
About the Person
Are you someone who likes to support the community and would like to work with a team of energetic, dedicated staff and volunteers, who deliver a range of other activities, and services within our local communities?
Ideally, we want an experienced cook, that has a background in working in a commercial kitchen and have food hygiene level 2 qualifications or above.
We need someone that can help, transform, modernise and inspire our community members. This will include providing a short order snack offer and cooking a daily wholesome choice of hot tasty meals and a selection of puddings. We also provide meals for special events and hirers should they need a small buffet or sandwiches.
You must have the ability to keep the kitchen and equipment clean, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and health and hygiene.
We follow the safer foods better business management systems in all our kitchens, and the cook would be responsible for keeping these records up to date.
We work with a dedicated team of volunteers, who will work alongside you to deliver the service, by helping serve meals, and in some instances, they may provide help in the kitchen, under your supervision.
We would require you to prepare budgets, order stock and keep stock rotated, prepare weekly menus and menus for special events, to be imaginative and creative.
You will be able to share your ideas, and inspirations for providing a safe warm centre, where all visitors, including vulnerable people visiting are given a truly happy social experience.
