We are recruiting a Contracts Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Tir y Berth Depot

Team: Waste Strategy and Operations


This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization.

We pay an attractive salary of £39,152 - £41,771 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing contracts for the effective treatment, recovery and disposal of a range of waste and recycling materials. This involves developing specifications and tender documents that facilitates the delivery of a sustainable waste management service and enables the Authority to achieve the statutory recycling targets.

You will Implement policy and procedures that facilitate the delivery of services in a legally compliant, citizen focussed and sustainable way.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A Relevant Level 4 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.
  • Knowledge and understanding of contract management, procurement, regulation and governance.
  • Experience and understanding of procurement and contract management.
  • Commitment to maintain and enhance technical skills on an ongoing basis.
  • The ability to travel to attend meetings and site visits (occasional).
