Job Title: CCTV/Concierge Operator (2 posts)
Salary: £30,219 – £33,819 per annum (plus 15% Rotating Shift Allowance)
Grade: C
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 37 hours per week

About the Department

Thurrock Council operate a 24 hour CCTV Control Room which monitors CCTV cameras throughout the Thurrock Borough which record 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The role also involves a 24 hour Concierge facility for three high rise flats to look after the well- being of the residents within the flats.

About the Role

The main aspect of the role is to work with a team of CCTV/Concierge Operators on a 24/7 shift rotation system which includes night work and Bank Holidays including Xmas.

You will be responsible for operating CCTV camera equipment and Police and Council radio equipment.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that all CCTV evidence is produced to a high standard and in accordance with Data Protection and GDPR guidelines.

You will liaise with Council Officers and departments and the Police as well as external third parties on CCTV enquiries as well as dealing with enquiries from Residents and visitors to the flats.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Operate CCTV equipment
  • Operate Police and Council radio systems
  • Act as Concierge for high rise flats
  • Collate, prepare and present evidence gathered by CCTV monitoring service to the standard required by the criminal justice system
  • To appear in Magistrate or County Court as technical witness if necessary
  • An excellent knowledge of IT systems is required including Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Essential Qualifications: Ideally to hold a CCTV SIA Licence
DBS Check: At Basic level
