This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organisation.

We pay an attractive salary of £23,187 - £25,152 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

It takes a special kind of person to undertake the role of a Community Support Worker. Is this you?

Are you caring, reliable and friendly, with a can-do attitude to supporting individuals to achieve their goals and aspirations? Then ask yourself: -

Do I want to work with people and make a difference to their lives from the support I give? Do I see myself as a people person? Would I like to be part of a team whose aim is to make people happy and fulfilled? If you can answer "yes" to these questions, then you have the qualities that we are looking for to be part of our team.

We are currently looking to recruit one permanent, part-time 30-hour Community Support Worker to work as part of our Community Support team. The role of a Community Support Worker is to provide support to individuals with learning difficulties and to source voluntary and paid work opportunities of their choice.

You will be required to lone work one-to-one in the community and to work in a group setting at our Catering Project, Coffee Shop and Clothing Venture.

As a result, all Community Support Workers will need to work flexibly with us to ensure the level of support required is available. This will mean that the ability to work over a 7-day period is an essential requirement of the role. This could include weekend and evening working. Access to a car is also a requirement of this role.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Care on the Credit and Qualifications Framework or the commitment and ability to attain the qualification within 1 year of appointment (subject to availability of training).
  • Experience within a learning disability setting.
  • Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business/work to transport individuals throughout the county borough.
  • Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence to drive a leased Council vehicle to transport individuals regularly throughout the day. In order to undertake the post, it is compulsory for the post holder to pass a driving assessment as determined by the insurance liabilities of the lease hire vehicle.

We have excellent benefits including the Local Government Pension Scheme and staff discount schemes.
