You will also provide general administrative support across the service, including responding to enquiries, arranging meetings and taking minutes, producing statistical information, processing purchase orders and expenses, and helping to maintain procedures, reports and webpages.

The role involves handling sensitive information, so you will need to work accurately and follow relevant procedures, data-sharing agreements and confidentiality requirements. You may also be asked to support wider Environmental Protection and Community Safety projects when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, view and download CCTV footage as required
  • Maintain accurate records of CCTV incidents, viewings and downloads
  • Assist with the supervision and coordination of CCTV volunteers

  • Produce statistical returns, reports and other service information
  • Raise purchase orders and process volunteer expenses and claims
  • Assist with Freedom of Information and Subject Access Requests
  • Help maintain departmental procedures, codes of practice, data-sharing agreements and webpages
  • Provide administrative and operational support across the wider Environmental Protection and Community Safety Service

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience of providing administrative support and using systems such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A professional and customer-focused approach
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate tactfully and diplomatically
  • The ability to work accurately, maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • A flexible, proactive approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A good standard of education, including Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent

Experience of working in a customer-facing or office-based environment would be an advantage. Experience within a CCTV service, Community Safety team, financial system or volunteer setting would also be beneficial.

You must hold a CCTV SIA licence or be willing to undertake the relevant training to obtain one. The successful candidate will also be required to complete Non-Police Personnel Level 2 vetting and may occasionally need to work outside normal office hours, including evenings and weekends.

In return, we can offer you a competitive salary, 24 days’ annual leave rising to 29 days subject to length of service, a great work-life balance with flexible working arrangements, employer pension contribution, free onsite parking, discounted gym membership, access to occupational health and wellbeing services, extensive training and development opportunities, and a supportive workplace culture that allows you to develop and grow.
