Weston-super-Mare Town Council is recruiting 2 x Community Rangers to join our Grounds Team during one of the busiest and most rewarding times of the year. This is an exciting opportunity to join a hardworking and passionate team who care deeply about our town, its green spaces and community assets. We are particularly keen to hear from people with transferable skills and a positive attitude — experience is important, but reliability, attention to detail and a willingness to work both independently and as part of a team are equally valued. A full driving licence is essential.

About the Role

As a Community Ranger you will help maintain and care for Weston-super-Mare Town Council’s parks, play areas, public spaces and community assets. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will support the delivery of grounds maintenance, environmental improvements, community events and operational projects across the town.

The role includes:

• Grounds and green space maintenance
• Litter picking and cleansing duties
• Play area inspections
• Minor repairs and maintenance works
• Supporting the Towns Floral initiatives
• Supporting civic and community events
• Working with local partners and the public
• Helping maintain the town’s assets to a high standard

We’re Looking for Someone Who:

You may already work in:

• Grounds maintenance
• Landscaping or horticulture
• Outdoor operational services
• Facilities or environmental services
• Waste or cleansing services
• Construction or maintenance roles

However, we are also very interested in applicants with transferable skills who can demonstrate :

A full driving licence is essential for this role.

Position: Community Ranger (2 Posts Available)

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Weston-super-Mare

Salary: LC1 (7-12) £26,403

Responsible to: Grounds Manager
