About the role:

The Communities, Leisure and Health Team at Brentwood Borough Council and Rochford District Council works collaboratively to improve the wellbeing, resilience and quality of life of residents. Working closely with voluntary, community, health and public sector partners, we help create healthier, more active and better-connected communities across both districts.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and experienced Community Partnerships and Development Officer to work primarily across the Rochford district, helping to build stronger, healthier and more resilient communities. Championing Asset Based Community Development, you will work with residents, community groups and partner organisations to ensure local voices influence council priorities, wellbeing initiatives and the future shape of local government services.
About you:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in community development, engagement and partnership working who wants to make a tangible difference. You will lead engagement activities, deliver community projects, develop partnerships, secure external funding and support initiatives that reduce inequalities and improve outcomes for residents.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with the ability to quickly build trusted relationships, inspire collaboration and turn ideas into action. You will have a proven track record of developing and delivering community-based initiatives with residents at the heart of decision-making, alongside a strong understanding of Asset Based Community Development and the role communities play in improving health, wellbeing and quality of life.
This post requires a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
You will be employed by Rochford District Council and will be required to work at both councils’ premises - Rochford District Council and Brentwood Borough Council.
