About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our committed and talented Commissioning and Contracts Team, within Adult Social Care, as a Commissioning and Contracts Manager. This will be a challenging but rewarding role for the right individual with a genuine commitment to improve outcomes for people within North Northamptonshire.

You will play a key role in leading commissioning and contracting work on behalf of Adult Social Care in North Northamptonshire, as well as developing and implementing our strategic commissioning intentions. Responsibilities include engaging with stakeholders, analysing current and future need, developing and commissioning services, contracting, shaping and sustaining the market.

  • Have substantial experience in commissioning and/or contracting (ideally both)
  • Are able to bring ideas and solutions to the challenges in the social care market
  • Can confidently manage project teams and projects to time and financial targets

What will you be doing?

The post holder will:

  • Lead multiple projects and project teams of internal and external stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively across the system and with local people
  • Compile and present comprehensive governance reports
  • Manage contractual arrangements throughout the contract lifecyle, including compiling terms as well as mobilising, varying, novating and terminating contracts
  • Act as a point of contact for contract-related issues, and widen understanding and awareness amongst stakeholders of both commissioning and contracting
  • Practice intelligence-led commissioning, using sound data and evidence

About you

The right candidate will:

  • Be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Be an effective team member, supporting colleagues when needed
  • Have excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Have good attention to detail, particularly in reviewing legal documents
  • Be familiar with a range of information sources and research methodologies, including the analysis of complex demographic and demand led trends
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of individuals and groups
  • Understand the benefits of co-production and working in this way
  • Have financial analysis and risk management capabilities
  • Understand relevant regulatory and legal requirements
