    What is the job role?

    We are seeking a dedicated and committed Children and Family Worker to join our Edge of Care Service. This role focuses on supporting families in their homes to prevent children from entering care.

    The role involves working closely with social workers and families to deliver targeted intervention to support change and improve stability at home. Providing a crisis response service, you will work with families in a flexible way and ensure that safeguarding is prioritised.

    This role will focus on working with children aged 0-8 years, subject to the Public Law Outline, with a focus on supporting families to exit legal proceedings.

    All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

    This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

    Who are we looking for?

    A Children and Family Worker in the Edge of Care Service involves building positive relationships, carrying out direct work with children, their parents and delivering intense targeted intervention. The post holder will work closely with social workers and other professionals, monitor progress, and advocate for the children’s and families' needs.

    You will need to be passionate about working with Children, Young people and their families, have a reassuring presence, be calm in a crisis, and be able to work with families in their homes, helping them make the necessary changes to stay together.

    As this post will mostly work with children 0 -8 years, those with experience of working with children from the early years sector are desirable.

    You will need to be a team player with a flexible approach, willing to work on a shift basis that includes evenings and weekends.
