    We are looking for a part-time Child Protection Advisor on a short term contract to support the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Service.

    The Post

    The post holder will be responsible for facilitating child protection conferences using the Signs of Safety approach, embracing the latest government initiatives and legislation, including Risk Outside the Home conferences. This role is critical in providing best practice guidance for Social Workers and scrutinising the progression of plans, with a strong outcome focus to improve children’s lives. You will act with integrity and always in the children’s best interest.

    You will:

    • facilitate child protection meetings as an independent advisor, ensuring that children and young people are safeguarded at all times and are kept at the centre of any decision making.
    • formulate SMART plans in a timely manner, utilising the Signs of Safety approach
    • complete midway reviews to ensure the progression of plans.
    • be part of the duty rota, facilitating child protection consultations.
    • work as part of a strongly established Child Protection Team.
    The Person

    Our Ideal candidate will be curious, courageous and kind in your work with families, partner agencies and colleagues. You will also be an experienced Social Worker with Team Manager level experience and hold an active Social Work England registration. You will also enjoy working in a team and be confident in your decision making and be able to deal with difficult situations in a calm manner.

    You will be organised, flexible, have good record keeping skills and be able to analyse complex information quickly and be able to challenge with excellent verbal and written skills. You will be dedicated to improving outcomes for vulnerable children and their families including going the extra mile to effect change.
