Bereavement Services are looking for three Cemetery Operatives (Grade 4) to join our cemetery maintenance team.

Bereavement Services are responsible for the maintenance and care of the Boroughs 22 cemeteries and 15 closed churchyards.

These posts requires applicants to have extensive experience excavating graves and to be able to work outside in all weathers and be flexible in their approach to work.

The maintenance of cemeteries is a sensitive job and applicants will need to demonstrate an awareness of their surroundings along with a compassionate and caring nature. The role will involve the use of ride on mowers, power hand tools such as strimmers and blowers.

A good level of fitness is required as the job involves working outside in all weathers

An NVQ level 2 qualification or equivalent along with a full driving license (B+E) is required.

Alternatively for this role demonstration of extensive grounds maintenance experience will be accepted in lieu of qualifications
