Job Title: Theatre Technician
Salary: £13.76 per hour
Grade: B
Contract Type: Casual Zero-Hour Contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Theatre Technician on a casual contract at the Thameside Theatre as part of the highly skilled and experienced Technical Team.

About the Role

As a Theatre Technician you will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Technical Department of the Thameside Theatre with responsibility for lighting, sound maintenance and operation. You will be required to undertake stage management duties as required. You will be responsible for:

  • Programming and Operation of Sound Desk
  • Programming and Operation of Lighting Desk
  • Stage Management
  • Health and Safety of Hirers and Cast
  • Any Other Duties requested by the Technical Manager

This role offers the chance to make a real difference by being part of a professional team that delivers a high standard of production to our hirers and audiences.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in programming and operating sound and lighting equipment
  • Experience in stage management
  • Experience of Health and Safety Regulations
  • Experience of operating theatre productions, small bands and presentations
  • The successful candidate would need to be flexible to help meet the demands of the business including evening and weekend work.

Essential Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Lighting, Sound and Stage Management or minimum of 2 years’ experience in a theatre of 316 seats or above.

DBS Check: At Enhanced level is required for this post.
