From 1 October 2026, the new Foster for East Midlands Councils (FFEMC) Regional Assessment Team became operational, delivering fostering assessments on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council, Nottingham City Council, Derbyshire County Council and Derby City Council.

This is a new and exciting opportunity for experienced Children’s Social Workers to complete fostering assessments as part of a regional pool of assessing social workers for FFEMC.

This relief role involves undertaking comprehensive fostering assessments and presenting completed assessments to the Foster for East Midlands Regional Fostering Panel.

Assessments will be allocated by the Fostering Assessment Team Managers and full support will be provided throughout the process, including regular case supervision with the team manager, access to a guidance pack and regular training and development sessions
