Job Description

Do you want to play an important role in supporting the management of records within Adult Social Care? If you do, then this is the job for you.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Administrator within Older People's Directly Provided Services, with responsibility for scanning and retaining service user records.

This role focuses on the accurate scanning and secure storage of paper records in line with record retention requirements. The core focus of the role is high-volume scanning, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable undertaking detailed, repetitive work and can maintain a high level of accuracy and concentration throughout. The postholder may also be required to undertake other administrative duties, including data entry.

You will support the service by ensuring records are digitised and retained for future reference where required. Your work will help ensure important information is available when needed and managed in accordance with Council policies and procedures.

This is a part-time, office-based role, working between 24 and 30 hours per week. There is flexibility around when these hours are worked, which can be discussed with the successful candidate. Due to the nature of the work and the requirement to access and scan paper records, the postholder will be required to work on site. There is no option for home or hybrid working in this role.

The role is based at St Mary's House, Eastbourne. However, there may be flexibility to work from alternative office locations within Eastbourne, Lewes or Bexhill.

This role would particularly suit someone who enjoys focused, task-based work and takes pride in producing accurate results.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage own workload effectively
  • Working knowledge of using email and basic Microsoft Excel skills
  • Understanding of confidentiality
