Kent & Sussex Crematorium is seeking a Bereavement Service Assistant on a full time, fixed term basis of 12 months to join our dedicated team.

About the role:

You will play a vital part in ensuring our crematorium and cemetery services run smoothly, respectfully and in full compliance with legislation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing cremation and burial bookings

  • Processing statutory forms with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Supporting families, funeral directors and clergy with empathy and professionalism

  • Maintaining precise digital and manual records

This role involves working in close proximity to cremated remains, coffins and cremation equipment.

  • Are resilient, patient and able to handle sensitive situations with dignity

This role could be right for you if you have the following:

  • Experience in an administrative or customer‑facing role

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
