About the team

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Hertfordshire’s high-performing, fast paced Brokerage team in Adult Social Care. We help adults access social care services quickly and ensure providers are paid promptly, guided by our Connected Lives principles. The Brokerage Solutions Team delivers the OP, ADT-025 and OP mental health services, with Assistant Service Finders playing a key role. The team includes 40+ staff across various roles, with Assistant Service Finders primarily liaising with internal social care teams and external providers via email, phone, and Microsoft Teams.

About the role

  • Source and commission a variety of social care services based on adult social care assessments.
  • Collaborate closely with operational teams across Hertfordshire’s Adult Care Services—including community and hospital teams—as well as colleagues in Finance, Commissioning, and external service providers.
  • Support commissioning capacity to ensure business continuity and deliver improved outcomes for Hertfordshire residents.
  • Follow service operational procedures accurately and promptly across multiple social care commissioning services.
  • You would be expected to work from the office base at least two times per week, working from home the rest.

About you

Essential

  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to prioritise and manage a workload and deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to an office base, either Stevenage or Apsley
  • You will need to be able to work at pace, maintain accurate records, follow business processes and contribute towards process development.


Desirable:

  • Relevant qualification and/or relevant experience in Social Care
  • Previous experience or knowledge of the ACSIS System
  • Previous experience or knowledge of the E-brokerage System
