
Assistant Day Service Officer
Job Description
OverviewThe London Borough of Harrow is looking for an As and When Assistant Day Service Officer at New Bentley Health and Wellbeing Hub to support staff and service users as required.
Tasks include providing a warm and caring atmosphere in the Day Service and participating in the planning and provision of appropriate individual care for service users whilst enhancing their independence and dignity. You will undertake the skilled day-to-day social and emotional care of service users and will be expected to act with initiative, skill, and responsibility. The post holder will also observe the Council’s rules regarding confidentiality.
The post holder will work within a team and support staff and service users as required, following CQC and Adult Social Care policies and guidelines.
This role is available across a range of hours, offering flexibility to suit both service needs and individual availability.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of providing personal care.
- Experience of assisting service users with eating and drinking.
- Ability to undertake moving and manual handling duties.
- A Food Hygiene level 2 qualification.
- Good verbal communication.
- Good interpersonal skills and capable of working with a variety of people.
- Flexibility to work with a variety of service users with complex needs.
- Educated to NVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent or has the equivalent relevant work experience.

- £28,029 - £29,205 per year
